Dear Judi: I have been a subscriber to your newsletter for a few months now. I have learned a lot from reading your tips and have been close to calling you for consultation a few times. You make so much sense and know how to handle everything. I think I am now close to getting a job and am not sure of the proper procedure for the "thank you note" because of the number of people I met with. Thank you so much for your help,
Rachel G.

Judi: Thank you for an insightful and helpful e-column. I really enjoyed reading your column this week! Your points truly resonate with me. Your advice about explaining why I left my previous employer has worked perfectly, and I continue to use it! Thank you for a great newsletter and useful advice! I am getting interviews, and I am certain I will have "the perfect job" soon. Your column continues to be a great help particularly helping me to focus and get the most out of my time and to make the best decisions for me.
Best regards,
Amy W.

Judy,
The column on grammar (and spelling) was one of the best I have read in a long rime. It's (is the apostrophe right?) interesting how we have forgotten the basics. Those of us who are old enough to have received our education before computers even face the challenge of being dumbed down by them.
It is interesting how recruiters (or former ones) are especially sensitive to this. I think it is much more than the fact we are more exposed than most other people. I have come to believe it is part of our genetic make-up. Nick Corcodilos recently wrote a column as well on the subject and he was almost obsessed (a good thing) about this issue.
I am blessed as I always loved English and am a natural speller. It certainly doesn't hurt that both my parents have excellent English and grammar skills. Plus my mother is a retired 4th grade teacher. Finally I am thankful my 3 adult children have excellent English and grammar skills as well.
Well, I ramble. Keep up the good work. Bill Gaffney

I've since gone on my own and reworked my resume in broader terms to expend my market. A tip I credit to your newsletter. I put a note on my planner to send you an update by the end of next month to let you know how is going. Thanks for all your great work and for your book. Every time I see a posting that is out of the ordinary I go to your book to check my resume and cover letter. I use it as a checklist to analyze my resume and cover letter. David G., FL

Hello Judi: I subscribed to your newsletter and learned a lot from the course of numerous tips. I like to share with you my experiences and maybe if you judge wise, it could be of help to other job seeker. From one of yr article is the question "What kind of people work here?" I joined a company where the manager was unable to answer this question, he paused and looked unable to describe, so I helped him to describe the people by dropping verbs, i.e. team worker etc. The actual fact is the people in the company are very aggressive and political, out to climb each other heads. I did not stay long and moved on. The company I moved on have the manager describes the people very accurately. From this experiences, I learned that when the manager is unable to describe his people, it is not a good sign and I should not help him to describes. :) Sincerely, Woo K.
